Today's ride was short with a with a very light day on the ferry to follow on Monday. I woke up with a very painful shoulder that didn't allow me to raise my arm more than a few inches. I was able to put weight on the handlebars and probably could have ridden but thought two days of rest might be best. The ride started in heavy rain with strong headwinds which also  helped convince me to take the day off as my two cycling falls have occurred due to slips on wet surfaces.

The crew loaded my bike in one of the vans and I took a seat. The course led through typical rolling countryside and Wisconsin dairy farms which are usually well maintained and the farmhouses beautifully landscaped. The rain lasted about half the ride but the winds were strong and in the riders faces the whole way.

The ride staff were concerned about my shoulder and requested that I get  an x-ray before resuming the ride. I went to a clinic in Manitowoc and the x-rays were negative. By the end of the day it was starting to feel better.
