Port Huron MI To London ON
Miles Ridden  82.8
Climbing 786 Ft.
Total Miles Ridden 2907.3
Miles To Go 684.5

The big event of the day was the first thing we did,  crossing the Blue Water Bridge. We assembled as a group at 6:30 dressed in our red, white and blue cycling jerseys. Our motel was next to the bridge so we had a short ride to the bridge entrance. When we got to the toll booths, the eastbound lanes were shut down and we had the bridge to ourselves. It was a steep climb to the middle of the bridge and we had to get off the bike several times to walk over expansion joints. We rolled into the Canadian customs office and got a typical grumpy border guard greeting. Maybe it was the red, white and blue.

Leaving Sarnia we ran into a bridge that was out that required an unexpected detour, always a stress inducer for the staff. Next, a mile long freight train blocked our road. It was sitting there on a siding waiting for another train to pass. After about 15 minutes the other train, about a mile long, came along, doing less than 10 MPH. We reversed course and found another way around several miles down the tracks.
Miles of trains, hope there is no emergency

The traffic thinned out after a few miles/kilometers and we were in Canadian farming country. The weather called for a 50% chance of thunderstorms but all we got was some clouds. The wind and temperature were perfect for the fourth straight day. The roads were good and  we all enjoyed a great day of cycling with the thunderstorm threat motivating us to move quickly.

We took a meandering route into London to avoid heavy traffic and got to the hotel about an hour before a heavy storm hit.
